Activation
An activation is one order for a single verification code: one number, one service, one SMS, charged only when the code arrives.
In detail
It is the cheapest primitive on the site because the number is held for twenty minutes and then released back to the pool. If nothing arrives inside that window the order cancels itself and the balance goes back up, so a failed attempt costs time rather than money. What it cannot do is answer a second check weeks later, because by then the number belongs to someone else.
