About us
About VirtualSMSNumbers
A small team that got tired of unreliable number providers and built the one it wanted to use.
Why we exist
In 2019 we were running QA automation for a mobile app and needed verification numbers in eleven countries. Every provider we tried had the same three problems: prices that did not match reality, stock counters that were decorative, and a refund policy that meant opening a ticket and waiting three days for €0.14.
So we built the thing we wanted. Prices that come from the live operator pool. A stock counter that is a real number. And refunds that happen automatically, in seconds, without anyone reading a ticket.
Six years later VirtualSMSNumbers serves automation teams, QA departments, growth agencies and a lot of individual developers across 225 countries. We are still small, still profitable, still not funded, and still answering support tickets ourselves.
How we operate
The price list is the price
No hidden surcharges, no “premium” tier that quietly reroutes you, no dynamic pricing that punishes returning customers.
Failure is free
You pay for codes that arrive. Everything else is refunded automatically. This is the single rule we will never trade away.
Abuse is not a customer segment
We turn down volume that looks like fraud or spam, and we act on operator abuse reports. It costs revenue and protects the pool everyone else depends on.
Support by people who built it
Tickets are answered by engineers. There is no tier-one script and no chatbot in front of the queue.

Who you are actually talking to
Nineteen people in total. These five are the ones whose decisions you feel — and four of them still take support shifts.
Alexei Turgenev
Founder
Wrote the first routing layer in a rented flat in Tallinn in 2019. Still signs off every change to the pricing model.
Ilya Novak
Engineering
Owns the activation pipeline, the idempotency layer and the handler_api compatibility shim that let most customers migrate in an afternoon.
Sofia Renard
Product
Decides what the price table shows and, more often, what it does not. Responsible for the rule that stock counters may never be estimates.
Tom Okafor
Infrastructure
Operator integrations, pool health scoring and the on-call rotation. Keeps a list of every country where we are honestly weak.
Marta Kwiatkowska
Support Lead
Answers tickets in English, French, Russian and Polish, and decides which abuse reports get actioned first.
No stock photos on this page: the circles are initials, not portraits. We would rather not publish staff faces in this industry.
